At YES, Young Explorers, we consider it our privilege to accompany children as they embark on a journey of growth and exploration. In our full-service programs, children 6 weeks to 6 years experience a world rich with discovery guided by skilled and sensitive teachers who celebrate each child's individuality.

We recognize that a child doesn't come to us alone, rather, as a member of a family. We encourage dialogue with you about your child and our curriculum, caregiving practice, guidance, and cultural events. We welcome your participation in the center and invite you to become involved in whatever ways you would like or are able.

Parents are encouraged to be deeply involved in the development process. It is our belief that we must work in partnership with our families to provide a stable, safe, and home- like environment for our children. Parents are invited to share concern, feelings and suggestions about their children’s care, participate in our programs, and stop by anytime to observe how we fulfill our commitment.

Our family has been with Young Explorers for over 5 years now. WOW! That time has gone by so fast. This school is locally operated and owned. The owner, Filomena Brooks, is very involved in her schools. She opened them in the 70s and still has a hand in them. The address given in this listing is for the business office. There are two branches of this school.......one near 22nd and Wilmot, the other is near Speedway and Wilmot. The schools each have their own directors, aside from Ms. Brooks. They believe in play as a form of learning. There is also plenty of opportunity for whole family involvement at these schools as well. This includes parties on special occasions, potluck dinners and gatherings, an annual Mt. Lemmon camping trip, an annual carnival, an annual art night and an annual drama night. A Curriculum that Prepares Children for Lifelong Learning
From infancy to preschool to kindergarten, at YES your child will engage in exciting learning activities specifically designed to meet her developmental needs and help her advance to the next level. Our Journey Curriculum emphasizes language and literacy, cognitive development, social-emotional skills, physical activity and creativity.

Our core principles begin with the simple truth that each child has a unique and individual nature, worthy of respect, nurture and celebration. We believe that children are natural learners who gain knowledge by doing and communicating - that is why we always plan active and engaging experiences for your child. It is our goal to facilitate experiences that promote children's natural curiosity to actively learn, while creating an environment that allows children to grow and develop at their own pace.
Beyond the classroom, our Whole Child Education philosophy focuses on the idea that vigorous and intentional play experiences are healthy and essential for young children. Part of this philosophy also includes the belief that positive relationships with peers and caring adults promote social and emotional skills that lay the foundation for lifelong success.
